Event Horizon


	Event Horizon is the name of a large-scale public sculpture installation by the English artist Antony Gormley.



	Event Horizon consists of four cast-iron and 27 fibreglass casts of his own nude body, placed at ground level and poised on the edges of buildings. It was exhibited in London in 2007 and in New York in 2010.























	Originally mounted in London in 2007, the project consists of 31 life-size anatomically-correct male bodies.



	In 2010, the Event Horizon sculptures were installed in New York City at sites around Madison Square, as far downtown as Union Square and as far uptown as the Empire State Building.







	Thirty one life-size sculptures by Antony Gormley were placed on sidewalks and rooftops of buildings near the Empire State Building as an art display called “Event Horizon”.










	Statues placed on the sidewalk give the pedestrians a close look at the statues and their penises.



	31 life sized nude sculptures of himself were placed around Madison Square in New York, many on buildings like this one opposite the Empire State Building .
